Install the community runtime with your own PS4 game files, understand its settings, and follow the right symptom or save-management guide. Each task keeps release limits and unresolved problems in view.

Your own PS4 game files are required. The project download does not include the game.

The same saga.
Two different things.

The PS4 remaster and the community runtime have different roles. Keep that distinction clear before choosing a download.

THE ORIGINAL GAME

God of War III
Remastered

The PlayStation 4 edition, released on 14 July 2015 in the US. This is the underlying game, published by Sony.

03 / The game behind the project

Before the port,
there was Olympus.

Kratos returns to the Greek world in a single-player action adventure. The PS4 remaster presents its battles and puzzles at 1080p and 60 FPS on console.

That console specification describes the original product. It does not measure the community project’s performance on your PC.

04 / Before you go

A little clarity.
Before you play.

Two distinctions worth keeping in mind when reading feature lists and PC release headlines.

Does support for 4K or 240 FPS guarantee that performance?

No. The project lists resolution and high frame-rate patch options. These are features you can select, rather than a benchmark for your hardware. Check the release notes for the build you use; this site has not run its own PC performance tests.

Read the project’s compatibility notes
Does adding it to Steam make it an official Steam edition?

No. The maintainer describes adding the project as a non-Steam game. A library shortcut does not change the game’s publisher or make the community runtime a Steam release.
